Course Content (Syllabus)
Ιn the context of the course, analogies and differences between the European and the Neo-Hellenic Enlightenment will be presented. Τexts by important representatives of the Neo-Hellenic Enlightenment will be approached, with particular emphasis on texts by Rigas Velestinlis and Adamantios Korais. The essays and literary contributions will be integrated into the cultural and grammatical contexts of the 18th and 19th centuries, while the linguistic and stylistic features of the texts as well as the philosophical-ideological elements that emerge from them will be investigated. The course is offered as a seminar, so attendance is mandatory. Each student must present the theme he/she will undertake, while preparing a paper based on which he/she will be graded.
