• Describe cognitive and language development, developmental processes and stages and key learning theories.

2. Educational psychology. Definition. Research and effective teaching.
3. Cognitive and language development. Social contexts and socioemotional development.
4. Individual differences.
5. Sociocultural diversity.
6. Students with special needs.
7. Behavioural approaches to learning. Sociocognitive approaches to learning.
8. Information processing. Complex cognitive processes.
9. Social constructivist approaches to learning.
10. Teaching design. Motivation. Assessment.
11. Exercises (case study: assessment, intervention design, group discussion and presentation).
