Course Content (Syllabus)
This course focuses on one of the central issues of educational linguistics, namely how to analyze learning material concerning language teaching and, mainly, what criteria might be created for developing new learning materials suitable for language education. Based on theories from social semiotics (mostly) and taking into account international experience in language education, an analytical framework is developed for analyzing learning materials and resources (textbooks, software, web pages, etc.). Starting from the same framework, learning materials for different ages and different educational contexts are developed and used in real educational contexts.
