Learning Outcomes
With the successful completion of this course the students will be able to: 1). Realise that the establishment of three Foreigner Languages in the Greek educational system was achieved after a long process. 2). Conceive that the establishment of foreigner languages in the education was dictated by the world policies and the economic and social conditions after B΄ World War and mainly after the dissolution of the Soviet Union and the foundation of European Union in 1992. 3). Comprehend that the teaching of Foreigner Languages was the result of the European linguistic educational policy and the Greek foreign languages educational policy. 4). Conceive the conditions and the way in which the foreign language teachers are educated in the Greek Universities from 1951 till 2010. 5). Compose a scientific paper based on their personal interests.

Course Content (Syllabus)
Foreigner languages in Greece: Foreigner languages educational policy-integration in the education-Academical teacher educations (The example of teacher education in the German Department of Aristotele University Thessaloniki) A. The purpose of this course is to examine the topic of the integration of the instruction of the foreigner languages in the modern Greek educational system. Analytically the following units are examined: the Greek foreign language politics from 1929 to 2010, the European language politics, the integration of the instruction of the foreign languages in the analytic program of the High School and the primary school, the academic foreign language teacher training in the universities of Thessaloniki and Athens. Β. Forms and techniques of scientific writing, literature search, structure presentations, arranging study results.
