Learning Outcomes
• Familiarization with the multiple Aspects of the Pygmalion theme
• Adequate knowledge of the main theoretical positions on the opposition Natur- Art/technology in the context of the discussion of artificial beings (automata, robots, clones) and their impact on dystopian fictions
• Practice the individual bibliographical research, structuring and performance of an oral presentation
Practice academic writing by submitting a paper

Course Content (Syllabus)
The course examines the filmic and literary manifestations of the Pygmalion theme in its multiple aspects, such as the male conceptions of the ideal woman, the antagonism between nature and art and the hybris-problematic of the man in the role of the creator. Emphasis will be given on the literary motive of artificial life (automata, robots, androids, clones) which poses the problematic of the border between nature and technae and manifests itself often in terms of an identity-crisis.
