Learning Outcomes
Acquaintance with doing research in one of the frontiers of interdisciplinary research. Employment of knowledge acquired in various fields of psychology in a novel yet fundamental problem. Systematizing facts about consciousness and evaluating proposed theories of consciousness. Becoming aware of the philosophical nature of the science of psychology.

Course Content (Syllabus)
This course follows the recent turn of cognitive science in the direction of a neuroscientific study of consciousness. In the first part we present the problematique of consciousness, in the second we review the data that the research into consciousness has uncovered in the various sciences and in the third part we examine the theories that have been proposed to explain these data.

Description
In the final exam there is a section with multiple choice questions to test the width of knowledge acquired, a section of questions to be answered to test understanding, and an open essay on new material to test ability to extend what was learned in the course to other areas.
