Course Content (Syllabus)
• A brief historical and sociological approach to children’s literature.
• Concept, content and special traits of children’s literature. Literature and children’s literature. A brief historical review of Greek children’s literature.
• Familiarization with the theories of literature and their potential applications. General introduction to contemporary critique of European and Greek children’s literature.
• Different genres of children’s literature, trends and evolution. Theory and Criticism.
• Short form narrations (folkway, modern, child-centred, autobiographical texts).
• Children’s poetry (rhythmic, lyrical-rhetorical, modern poems).
• Wide form narrations (novels and novellas).
• Illustrated book and knowledge book.
