Learning Outcomes
Upon successful completion of the course, students will be able to:
- understand the significance of time and project management
- develop proofreading and editing skills, so that they are better prepared for the real conditions of the work environment
- analyse a number of issues they face in their translation work (which may be related to the translation brief, the text register, multimodality, terminology search and documentation, cultural/ideological aspects of translation, etc.);
- justify their translation choices.
Course Content (Syllabus)
The course aims to provide students with a comprehensive and solid basis for translation practice. Students translate different types of texts addressed to the broader public and covering a broad range of thematic areas, e.g. tourism, advertising, news, popular science, etc.
