Learning Outcomes
By the end of the course students should be able to:
• Research a topic using the university library, electronic databases and the Internet.
• Produce a properly formatted academic paper that uses sources.
• Use proper codes of conduct for email communication (email etiquette).
• Integrate, reference and evaluate sources effectively using the required referencing system.
• Record and present data in the form of spreadsheets and graphs.
• Recognize the basic style guide characteristics of the literature (MLA9) and linguistics (APA7) referencing systems.

Course Content (Syllabus)
This course aims to instruct students in:
A. Acquiring basic computer literacy linked with the development of their communication skills and their ability to evaluate and use bibliographical sources and data.
B. Efficiently using academic language and further engaging themselves in researching literature/culture topics and discussing research findings in linguistics.
Attendance for all components of the course is mandatory.
Students are required to attend workshop-style classes organized in the form of seminar lectures as well as lab sessions in the computer room (Faculty of Philosophy). Summative assessment (continuous and final exam).

Description
Αssessment is summative based on a series of different types of activities (40%) conducted in the three cycles (Library, Literature/Culture, Linguistics)throughout the semester and on the final exam (60%).
