Learning Outcomes
Upon completion of the course, students will be able to:
(a) Analyze issues of multilingualism, language policy and assessment in language education.
(b) Apply principles and methodologies of critical language education in a variety of learning environments.
(c) Utilize educational technologies (e.g. multimedia platforms, AI applications, VR/AR) for the design and implementation of language courses.
(d) Design and implement game-based learning activities, integrating educational board and digital games to enhance language skills.
(e) Adapt teaching to different learning profiles and individual differences in language learning.
(f) Critically evaluate various contemporary research data and propose innovative teaching interventions in language education.
Course Content (Syllabus)
This course can cover a range of topics depending on the needs of the program: multilingualism and language policy in education, principles of assessment in language teaching, critical language education, educational language policy, pronunciation teaching, individual differences in language learning, etc. Particular emphasis is given to the role of educational technology in language teaching, with reference to digital tools, multimedia platforms, language learning applications with large language models and virtual learning environments (VR/AR), which enhance the learning experience and interaction. At the same time, game-based learning methods and the use of board and digital games for the development of vocabulary, grammar and communication skills are explored, with the aim of increasing student motivation and active participation. The course encourages the critical analysis of contemporary research data, the design of innovative teaching interventions, and the application of differentiated approaches in a variety of educational environments.

10% Participation: Successful completion of the exercises and satisfactory preparation for the final examination are directly dependent on active participation in the lesson and reading of the weekly material. 30% Assignment: There will be one assignment during the course, focusing on a specific topic alongside relevant bibliography, discussion and exercises. 60% Final Exam: The final exam will draw on knowledge accumulated in the course using as its primary source the main coursebook. It will consist of a series of multiple-choice and short-answer questions, identification questions, discussion, apps evaluation, and an essay question concerning specific computational issues and theories.
