Learning Outcomes
The aim of this course is for students to understand issues related to social differences through the perspective of intercultural education for social justice. Specifically, by the end of the course, students should:
• Acquire basic knowledge and skills related to the subject and be able to connect them with their practice.
• Recognize and explain how unequal social relations affect human actions and relationships at both the micro (individual) and macro (structural) levels.
• Enrich their theoretical background and vocabulary with concepts that describe the issues of social differences in schools.
• Improve their critical thinking skills and ability to write and express themselves orally.
• Be able to develop action plans—adapted to the specific conditions—for all of the above, which will serve the goal of a more just society. Specifically, be capable of designing and implementing lessons that take into account the social differences among students.
• Use data from multiple sources in their daily professional activities.
• Identify further professional development needs related to teaching and/or supporting students.
