Learning Outcomes
Students in this course will be able to
- understand the theoretical axes of intercultural mediation
- understand and comment different theories of intercultural mediation and apply them to different didactic devices;
- develop a reflexive approach, which will help them to become aware of their own cultural codes and how they influence their perception of the world;
- compare the Greek situation with cultural contexts of other countries, but also with the cultures of people who have migrated to Greece in order to understand and analyze diversity.
- combine theory and practice through the application of intercultural mediation to audiences and diverse communication situations.
Course Content (Syllabus)
The objective of this course is twofold:
- analyze the notion of intercultural mediation which aims to facilitate harmonious communication between different people or organizations of different linguistic and cultural backgrounds and
- provide students with tools that will help them to implement the methodological principles of intercultural mediation in the didactic process.
