Learning Outcomes
Learning outcomes concern understanding the complex nature of language and how language subsystems are neurologically supported. Furthermore, students become able to distinguish the effect of different language typology on the type of language deficits of people who have suffered brain damage and also to understand issues related to the cognitive/linguistic assessment of patients.

Course Content (Syllabus)
In this course, an introductory approach to Neurolinguistics is attempted. Specifically, the specific levels of language analysis (phonology, morphology, syntax, etc.) are examined and analyzed in the light of the neurobiological factors that enable the language production and comprehension. In addition, the effect of brain damage on the linguistic abilities of speakers of typologically different languages ​​is examined and, therefore, a cross-linguistic perspective is adopted in this course. Also, issues related to the linguistic and cognitive assessment of people with brain damage are raised.
